Amantadine
A medication originally developed as an antiviral drug to treat influenza A, but it's now more commonly used to manage symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and drug-induced movement disorders. It works by increasing dopamine activity in the brain and may also have some NMDA receptor antagonist effects, which help reduce abnormal brain signaling. Common side effects include dizziness, insomnia, and nausea, and it should be used with caution in people with kidney problems.
