Chronic Illnesses: Long COVID
Last appointment: Within the last 6 months

Dr. Lavretsky is part of UCLA's long covid program. I had one appointment with her and it was a mixed experience. On one hand, she doesn't attribute long covid symptoms to depression/anxiety/etc. like a lot of psychiatrists do and she gave me a prescription for memantine to help with my brain fog. On the other hand, she was rather disorganized and unprofessional on the day I saw her and part of her standard protocol for long covid patients is a meditation on why the universe wanted them to have long covid (not a helpful framework, in my opinion).
